Image Converter
What this tool does
Choose an image in almost any format your browser can open — PNG, JPG/JPEG, WebP, GIF, BMP, SVG and sometimes AVIF — and choose the output format: WebP, AVIF, PNG or JPEG. AVIF is only available when your browser can encode it. Everything happens locally in your browser using Canvas, so your original file stays private.
What people use this for
- PNG → WebP (smaller file for the web)
- JPG → PNG (add transparency)
- WebP → JPEG (compatibility with older software)
- Set quality between 10% and 100% for WebP and JPEG

Which file formats can I use as input?
Any image format your browser can natively open: PNG, JPG/JPEG, WebP, GIF, BMP, and — depending on your browser — often SVG and AVIF too. Pick a file with the file picker and the tool shows a preview right away; you don't need to specify the source format yourself.
Which output formats can I choose?
You can choose WebP, AVIF, PNG and JPEG. AVIF may be shown as unsupported when your browser cannot encode it. The selected format determines the download extension and encoding.
Is transparency preserved when converting?
Converting to WebP or PNG fully preserves transparency. JPEG doesn't support transparency: transparent areas are automatically filled with a white background before export when you pick JPEG, so you don't end up with an unexpected black area.
Why is the quality setting sometimes hidden?
Because it does not apply to every format. PNG is a lossless format: it stores every pixel exactly and has no quality dial to turn, so the slider disappears when you select it. For JPEG, WebP and AVIF the setting does apply, since those discard detail to save space. Pick a lower value and the file gets smaller while artefacts become more visible around sharp edges and text.
Is my image uploaded or stored anywhere?
No. The whole process — reading the file, drawing it on a canvas, and exporting it to the chosen format — happens locally in your browser using JavaScript. Nothing is sent to any Westcube server (or anyone else's), nothing is logged, and nothing is retained. Close the tab and the file is gone unless you already downloaded it.
